Looking Forward into History

So's, Bob didn't appreciate my backhanded compliment. I'll try ta pick myself up, shake it off, and move on wit' this post.

It is time, as my buddy Bob pointed out, to look back and look forward. Best of all, for now, the Pack is looking down on the rest of the teams in da NFC North Division! Everyone's real tight, a' course, all bunched in there like a can a' sardines. Having knocked off the team that was so hot early on makes it much better, though -- more like sardines n' peanut butter!

I'm feelin' a little of that French thing you feel when you're feeling like you've felt something before. Whatssat, day-job voodoo, er somethin', right? Anyhoo, I seem to recollectionize a similar-type situation from, oh, I dunno', a year ago or so? The first half of the season really didn't live up ta our justifiably-high expectations, but we came back real strong in the stretch. Same time, aiding the Viqueens in another mid-season slide is always our pleasure! After the game dis past Sunday, I admit I still have some worry about me, but I'm feelin' a might proud of our boys in the Green and Gold right about now. I am in agreement with Bob-o on the performance of our "D" -- except I have to admit that this year's Gills girls flag football team is pretty hot... I mean, they're streakin'... I MEAN, they're doin' a darn good job on the field and winnin' a lotta' games. (Crie, I hope this doesn't get back to Doreen outta' context!)

This Sunday night's game is gonna' be a fun one. We do good work on Sunday nights in general. In fact, me and Bob haven't seen the Pack lose a Sunday night game in almost nine years. (as I recall, the Bucs stole an overtime victory back in December 1995 that made us wait a extra week or two ta' clinch the Playoffs.) I expect this game to help us add ta dat win streak. Course, as I see it, we'll be showin' up at Reliant Stadium about nine months late, since we shoulda' been there in February. But I also wonder if we might be able to claim home field advantage this week, what with Javon's family living so close and all -- if all his second cousins once removed show up, that's a entire end zone section right der!

Watch Bubba on the slant. Pack by 17.

Poker night tonight, Bob! Jeff by several million.

-Jeff
